About the Founder- Our Beloved father, Wazir Mohammed
W&S fish farm was founded in the island of Trinidad and Tobago in the early 80's.
Our business originally started out as a hobby interest when the late manager,
Wazir Mohammed, was just about 16 years of age. With just a few tanks, and a Small assortment of Guppies and Mollies, he made the first stepping stone in his industrious career as a Fish Farmer. and He would later go on to specialize in the rearing and breeding of Oranda Goldfishes thereafter mastered the art of breeding selected Japanese Kois. This era began in the early 90’s, where he
became one of the top producers of high quality Koi in the country. Because of
the love for his hobby, it then grew into the highly successful business it is
today.
His knowledge and expertise had grown over the years and has made him one of the
most reputable producers of Japanese Koi and fish farm owners in Trinidad and
Tobago, and by extension the Caribbean. Wazir’s dream was always to travel to
Japan to compete in Nishikigoi shows, however this would not be as he was
diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic lateral Sclerosis) in 2010- a rare, debilitating illness that causes muscle
deterioration.
On July 5th 2012, he passed away at the age of 53, leaving behind his life’s work. The legacy of Wazir
Mohammed, will be carried on for many years to come because of the service and
quality of our produce. At W&S Fish Farm we don’t just sell kois, but we offer a service of honesty and integral pride which was passed on from our beloved father. He will always be remembered.
